I dont want to use all of TotalFinder, because I prefer default Mac OS X Finder, but I wish it had a keyboard shortcut to show a finder window over top of. UPDATE 2: TotalFinder has launched a new version which works with Ventura, on Intel (tested and verified). The system will complain that this is an unsupported configuration though, and we cannot know if a future update. TotalFinder admits that it doesn't yet work on Ventura. > macOS 13.In this post from 2017 we talked about how we found a way to run our apps TotalFinder and TotalSpaces2 with System Integrity Protection (SIP) turned on. This was possible because the installation process would install our plugin components in trusted locations whilst SIP was turned off, allowing the user to turn SIP back on again after installation. Unfortunately, with macOS 10.14 Mojave this is no longer the case - Apple have changed their verification code so that our plugin cannot possibly work with SIP turned on even if it is installed in the trusted locations that worked before. This means that in order to run our apps on macOS Mojave you have to keep SIP turned off. We know this is disappointing, and that some people will not want to do this. Your machine may be less secure when System Integrity Protection is not running. It is entirely your decision to modify or temporarily modify the settings. If you want more information about SIP, see wikipedia. Apple also provided some information here. We provide updated instructions on how to install TotalFinder here and TotalSpaces2 here. In Mojave Apple added additional signature checks for injected code. This means that our plugins won’t load unless we can sign them with an Apple certificate, and as we aren’t Apple we don’t have that certificate. On Friday, September 9th, 2011 at 10:19 am by Rob Griffiths, If you’re running Witch in a pre-Lion Mac OS X with TotalFinder, use this solution instead. (That’s one long line just select it and copy, and it should paste fine.) You won’t see any response from Terminal (other than a new command prompt), but Witch is now set up to work properly with TotalFinder. Open Terminal (in Applications > Utilities), copy and paste the following text, then press Return:ĭefaults write ~/Library/Application\ Support/Witch/Settings "Work Around TotalFinder (Lion or Newer)" -bool YES.Disable Witch (uncheck Enable Witch) and quit the app (App Store version) or close System Preferences (independent version). If that’s the case, you can try this method to fix the problem: If you’re running Lion and using both Witch and TotalFinder, you may (will?) see duplicated entries for TotalFinder windows in the Witch switcher panel.
